Many UK E-commerce Sites do not comply with EC Regulations

The Office of Fair Trading has found that more than half of the UK web sites fail to comply with the Distance Seling Regulations which were introduced in October 2000. The OFT is set to crack down on of these companies and this could result in web sites being shutdown until the regulations are met.

Consumers must be given the full information required such as the name and address of the supplier and their rights with respect to refunds and cancellation.
